Facial Reflexology

Facial reflexology works on the same principles as foot and hand reflexology where different zones and reflexes on the face correspond with different areas of the body. By massaging and working with the reflexes, tension and imbalances within the body can be reduced - both physically and emotionally, aiming to bring about an optimum level of health.

The proximity of the face to the brain is key to the effectiveness of this treatment, working on neural pathways where the effect can be instantaneous. It is therefore a powerful treatment and deeply relaxing.

Facial reflexology may be beneficial for certain conditions including:

 - headaches

 - migraines

 - sinus issues

 - teeth grinding

 - face/jaw tension

 - bell’s palsy

It can also help obtain a healthy glow, a younger look and improved skin tone.  Regular treatments may help in the reduction of lines and wrinkles.

During your treatment

The face will be gently wiped in order to free the skin of any extra oil or make up and a few drops of grapeseed oil will be applied and smoothed over the skin. The treatment will start with gentle massage moves working from the elbows up followed by the facial reflexology techniques. The treatment will end with some gentle massage moves. Each facial reflexology treatment will be adapted for you individually.

As with foot reflexology you are likely to feel relaxed and rebalanced. Due to the breakdown of toxins into the circulatory system you may feel a mild headache or slight worsening of some current symptoms before they get better. This is a positive reaction as it’s the body’s way of starting the natural healing process.

Facial reflexology works beautifully as a combined treatment, starting with the face and then moving to the feet or as a standalone treatment.
